Finding Balance

Saturday, July 30th, 2011

It seems that each day there’s a slew of new products being released, promising amazing results for this trouble or that. Granted, scientists are making breakthroughs in both cosmetics and health every day, and some of those products are truly spectacular. But with all the hubbub it’s easy to lose sight of the simple things that can help. If you’re having trouble with your skin you might want to have a look at your daily routine.

How’s your diet? Not that beets and vinegar fad your Aunt Bertha got you to try but your daily way of eating?

Are you drinking water? Sure, teas and the like can help keep you hydrated but there’s nothing like cool clear water to help flush out impurities within your system.

Are you always on the go? Always stressed? Never rested? Studies show that internal and external stresses can play a major role in how you look and feel.

Are you constantly in front of the television, never getting fresh air and moderate amounts of sunshine? It’s remarkable what a little time out in nature can do for your emotional and physical wellbeing.

How about nutrients? Your skin is just like the rest of your body, in that it needs to be fed properly in order to thrive. Are you taking vitamins for healthy skin? It’s a simple aide and often overlooked. We do it for our prized blooms, why not for ourselves?

With a little effort, that work/play/life balance can be found and maintained – and your body will thank you for it.
